The following guidelines outline the privacy policy the Catalyst Companies, Inc. (“Catalyst”), will follow in collecting, maintaining and using the information it receives through your interactions with its website at https://www.thecatalystcompanies.com (the “Website”).  These guidelines have been developed to support and supplement the Website’s terms of use, which may also be found on the Website, and are incorporated by this reference.  Due to the constantly evolving nature of the internet and the legal policies that surround it, Catalyst reserves the right to unilaterally update these guidelines and the terms they support.  Each revision shall be effective when posted and supersede any versions that proceeded it.  Your use of the Website and its services shall constitute an express acceptance of the privacy guidelines in effect at the time of use.  If you disagree with this policy, you must discontinue and you must stop using the Website.

Catalyst does not audit, vet, or endorse the privacy policies of any webpages linked to the Website.  You are accordingly responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions associated with each website you visit, and should not assume they will follow the privacy policy outlined below.

  1. What Information Does Catalyst Gather?

Catalyst shall gather the following information during your interactions with the Website:

Registration Information.  Catalyst will collect any information you provide via the Website or through direct communications with Catalyst and its agents.  Such information may include, but shall not be limited to, your name, occupation, employer, title, e-mail, telephone number and demographic information (e.g., age, sex and location).

Traffic Information.  Catalyst will collect your computer’s I.P. address, the browser type you use, your access times, data from undeleted cookies, and other numeric measures or codes used to track your computer’s interaction with the Website.  This information allows Catalyst to measure a computer’s interaction with the Website.  With the exception of cookies, discussed below, all of the traffic information we gather from your interactions with the Website shall be nonidentifying, in that it will not identify you personally, and will be used to improve the Website and may occasionally be shared with third-parties for marketing purposes.

Cookie Information.  Catalyst will use cookie-based tracking to identify you and confirm your rights to access the Website.  Catalyst’s gathering of this information is contingent upon your acceptance of the cookies used to gather it.  If you refuse to accept cookies from Catalyst, your access to certain portions of the Website and its services may be restricted or blocked entirely.  From time to time, we may also use a third-party advertising server to display ads on the Website and some of the ads posted by these servers may contain cookies specific to the advertiser.  We do not have access to these cookies or the information they gather, and acceptance of these cookies, or the cookies sent from any party other than Catalyst, is optional and shall not affect your use of the Website.

Credit Card & Payment Information.  Catalyst uses a third-party merchant service to process all online payments.  Accordingly, Catalyst does not routinely keep or store your credit card or other payment information.  In the event Catalyst is given your credit card or other payment information, it shall keep such information only so long as necessary to process the payment and transfer the information to its merchant service provider.  All information provided to Catalyst’s third-party merchant provider shall be kept secure in accordance with the provider’s internal policies and procedures.  Information on Catalyst’s current provider shall be provided upon request.

  1. How is this Information Used?

The information Catalyst gathers shall be put to the following uses:

Statistical Analysis & Banner Advertising.  Catalyst may use your anonymous traffic information to analyze user behavior and measure interest in the various areas of our site for product development purposes, or to inform advertisers as to how many consumers have seen or “clicked” their advertisements.  Catalyst also uses demographic information to allow advertising banners on our Website to be targeted, in aggregate, to the readers for whom they are most pertinent.  This means that readers see advertising that is most likely to interest them, and advertisers send their messages to people who are most likely to be receptive, improving both the viewer’s experience and the effectiveness of the ads.  In this statistical analysis and banner advertisement targeting, we will disclose information to third-parties only in aggregate form.  Personal information about you as an individual will not be provided to any third-party.

E-mail & Marketing.  Catalyst may use the e-mail address(es) you provide to send you information about Catalyst and the services it offers.  Occasionally, Catalyst shares the data it collects with partners and affiliates whose products overlap with the services Catalyst offers and may be of interest to you.  If you prefer not to receive such information, you may elect opt-out at the time of registration, may making use of the opt out language at the end of any promotional materials you receive or, in any event, by contacting Catalyst and opting-out via the procedures set forth below.

  1. When & How is Your Information Shared?

Catalyst shares the information it gathers in aggregate form with advertisers and other partners.  Catalyst will not release personal information about you unless we have your permission or are otherwise required to do so in order to comply with applicable state or federal law.  In the event Catalyst is compelled to share your personal information, it will take reasonable steps to protect any information Catalyst deems sensitive or is subject to confidentiality agreement.

  1. Opting-Out, Corrections & Cancellations

Upon request, Catalyst will: a.) remove you and your personal information from its customer database, thereby cancelling any prior registration, b.) correct personal information you state is erroneous, or c.) permit you to opt-out of future e-mail contact.  To make such a request, please direct all correspondence to info@thecatalystcompanies.com.
